Breakfast By The Fireplace

When this rainy morning cancelled tennis
I thought it would be nice to have
breakfast by the fireplace.
 and linger over breakfast.
 Even light the candles.
Have a second cup of coffee.
No real fireplace for us here in south Florida.
 We pop in a DVD.
 It even crackles and pops.
Nice to hear with the rain.
It's nice to look out knowing I don't
have to go anywhere.
We needed this rain.
It keeps all the flowers happy and
I don't have to water.
The orchids outside.
We'll just stay inside by the fire.
Rainy days and Mondays
never get me down.

Cheers!

  1. How lovely, even without a real fireplace. We have the "faux fireplace" On Demand from the cable company. It's always fun to turn it on. Your orchids out side look like they're loving the rain..so pretty.
Wishing you a happy rainy day in front of the fire. :)

  6. What a cozy way to have a lovely breakfast on a gloomy, rainy day! Your table is lovely and that coffee sure looks good! If you don't have a real fire, that's definitely the next best thing!

I love cozy breakfastes on a gloomy day, we have those here too. Oh I can smell the coffe, I'm a coffee lover and it desn't take my sleep away either! Happy Valnetine's.

  10. Sure wish we'd get some of that rain here in south GA..we are really dry and our pond is lower than I think it's ever been. I do love a rainy day now and then when I just stay inside, wrap up in a warm blankie, sit in front of the fireplace (real one), sip a cup of hot chocolate or flavored coffee, and read a good book...or some good blogs, like yours:)

  11. I am right there with you, we live in Arizona and surely do not have need of a fireplace. It has rained only three times, very lightly since we moved here last March. I think we need rain too. Love your "fireplace!"
